Lynnwood Junior High School    1954 - 1955 Photo Albums

In 1954 we departed our separate grade schools of Edmonds, Alderwood Manor, Mountlake Terrace, and Esperance. Instead of stepping into Edmonds High School, as our older siblings did, we came together at the brand new Lynnwood Junior High School just off Hiwy 99 and 196th in Lynnwood. By student vote, our colors were purple and white and our sports teams were known as the "Lynnwood Lancers." As ninth-graders, we were the first graduating class from that school — with no idea that history would repeat itself three years later!

Junior High Reporters

"PROUDLY DISPLAYING COPIES OF THE REPORTER are shown the Lynnwood Junior High School students who contributed outstanding articles to the school news column conducted by them throughout the latter part of the school year. So much enthusiasm was shown by the students working on this column that school authorities are planning a student newspaper production for the coming year.

"I’m responding to your call for photos of Lynnwood Jr. Hi days. I only have one but I believe it’s a classic. I took it with the school camera from photography class. The willing models posing from left to right are Judy Collins, Barbra Van Dyke, Bette Dunn, Penny Campbell, and Sherry Marlin. Just had to share!"    Ron McLaughlin  EHS'58
